Standard Engineering Laboratory Africa (SELA) exists to give Liberia’s infrastructure independent, traceable evidence about the ground and the materials it is built on. This blog is where we will share what we learn along the way — from our projects, our laboratories and the wider world of construction quality.
What we will publish
- Project updates — field and laboratory work from our projects across Liberia, from site investigation to final testing.
- Engineering insights — practical notes on testing methods, standards and lessons from the field for engineers, contractors and clients.
- Research — findings from the studies we undertake on Liberian soils, laterite, aggregates, concrete and other construction materials.
- QA/QC Monthly — a monthly review of quality assurance and quality control in construction in Liberia, across Africa and around the world: standards, regulation, major projects and trends.
How often
We will publish new articles every week, and our QA/QC review every month.
Why it matters
Reliable testing is what turns a design into infrastructure that lasts. By sharing what we see on site and in the laboratory, we want to help clients, contractors, engineers and policymakers make better decisions about quality — and to raise the standard of construction testing in Liberia and the region.
